Custom cushions and foam
Custom Cushion Replacement and Foam Inserts
Foam by the day.
Sofa and chair cushions, window seats, outdoor pads and boat seating rebuilt to any dimension you send us. Foam inserts cut, wrapped and ready in a day, in the density that fits how you actually sit.
What we take on
6 kinds of cushion replacement.
Indoor, outdoor, on the water, and every shape a bench, seat or hull requires.
01Sofa and chair cushions
Back and seat cushions on the sofa or armchair you already own. Rebuilt in the density that suits the piece rather than to a stock spec.
02Window seats and benches
Bay window seats, breakfast nook benches and hallway benches cut to the exact opening they sit in. Nothing wedged into an approximate size.
03Outdoor and patio
Patio chair pads, chaise cushions and sling seating in UV-stable vinyl over reticulated foam that lets water pass through rather than holding it.
04Boat and marine
Salon seating and helm cushions with the same closed-cell foam and marine vinyl logic used on our full marine work. Fitted at the boat if the seat cannot travel.
05Custom foam inserts
Foam inserts cut and wrapped in a day. Bring the old cover in, or send the dimensions, and take the new insert home the same visit.
06Feather and down
Down-blend and feather-wrapped inserts for the softness a plain foam block cannot give, sized for the cover you already have.
About the foam
Choosing foam for cushion replacement.
The right foam depends on where the cushion lives. High-density for a seat that gets sat on every day. Medium for back cushions where compression is unwelcome. Closed-cell reticulated foam for anything outdoors or on the water, so it drains instead of holding water. Dacron or down-blend wrap for the softness a bare foam block will not give.
On the sawEvery insert is cut to the dimensions you send, wrapped and ready the same day.
How a cushion job runs
How a cushion job runs.
Most foam inserts are cut, wrapped and ready the same day you bring the dimensions in.
Send dimensions
Bring the old cover in, or send the length, width and depth. Photos of the piece help us pick the right density for the seat.
Approval
Cost and foam grade agreed before we cut. You approve the density and the wrap, and how long you want the insert to last.
Cut and wrap
Foam is cut on the saw the same day, wrapped in Dacron or a down blend if the cushion calls for it, and stuffed into the cover if you bring 1 in.

Before you write
Cushion questions we get most.
If yours is not here, put it in the message box and we will answer it in the estimate.
Can you match my existing cushions?
Yes. Bring the old cushion or cover in, or send photos plus the length, width and depth. We match density and shape to what you already have, unless you want to change it.
How long does a custom foam insert take?
Most inserts are cut, wrapped and ready the same day you bring the dimensions in. Larger or unusually shaped inserts may need a second visit.
What foam should I use for outdoor cushions?
Reticulated closed-cell foam is the right answer for anything outdoors or near water. It lets water pass through instead of holding it, so the cushion dries out rather than growing mildew. Regular foam fails fast in that environment.
Can I bring in old covers to be refilled?
Yes. Bring the cover in, we measure the interior and cut an insert to fit it, wrapped in Dacron or a down blend if the cover calls for a softer feel.
Do you deliver, or is it pickup only?
Both. Pick up from whichever workroom is closest is the fastest option. For larger orders we deliver anywhere along coastal South Carolina, and price the delivery with the estimate.
