About Palmetto Upholstery & Fabric, a Lowcountry workroom since 2004

Old workroom, new chapter.

Palmetto has been rebuilding the Lowcountry's furniture for 2 decades. In 2025 the shop changed hands, and what was 1 workroom on Hilton Head is now 3 along the coast.

2 decades, 3 chapters

How we got here.

2004

It starts on Hilton Head

1 workroom on the island, doing residential reupholstery for people who would rather fix a good frame than replace it. Word travelled the way it does in a small place, and the shop built a reputation for craftsmanship across the Lowcountry.

Archive or oldest workroom photo. A faded phone shot is fine and often better.
2025

New hands, same bench

David Quintanilla and Cameron McLemore took ownership, bringing a renewed focus on white glove service and an uncompromising eye for quality. The trade work grew quickly, and so did the map.

Today

3 workrooms, 1 coast

Hilton Head, Charleston and Myrtle Beach, each with a full workroom on site. We take work from Tybee Island and Jacksonville in the south, north through Greenville, and as far as Charlotte, alongside designers across the greater South Carolina area.

Ownership

The 2 people who signed for it.

Both owners are in the workrooms, not above them. Estimates and problems reach them directly.
